detail2 (1)Imagine warming up on a cool winter evening by the warmth of a beautiful, roaring wood fire. While drinking your favorite cup of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate, you hear the crackling sounds, you feel the gentle warmth of the fire.

Imagine a hot summer Friday evening watching movies with family and friends: the lights are dimmed, the popcorn is hot, and the fan is on low, bringing you a gentle refreshing breeze while you relax and enjoy the show.

All of this can happen in your soon to be 16′x13.5″ living room which is floored with elegant and warm solid brazilian cherry hardwoods, elegantly decorated with a sumptuous border. The wood burning fireplace has a luxurious slate surround and hearth featuring a beautiful wood mantel with delicate fluting, dentil molding, and slate inserts. It has a full masonry chimney.

Furnished with a 52” ceiling fan and dimmable, recessed lights, it is the perfect room in which to sit and talk, enjoy time with family, or to entertain some friends. The beautiful updated wall color and white molding, crown molding, and chair rail give this classic room an updated look that does not make you feel like you have time-warped back to the ‘80s.

Of course, for your safety, this room is furnished with a carbon monoxide detector.

All in all, trust us, you will never want to leave this room!

Enjoy entertaining friends or a simple family night dinner in your new 13’4″x10’5″ separate dining room. The Brazilian cherry flooring flows smoothly in the opening between the living room and dining room; there is an unobtrusive brass seam in the opening between the dining room and kitchen. This floor features a resplendent border outlined with light Brazilain cherry of a thinner width. French doors in the dining room bay open out onto the large deck, under the charming pergola.

Cooking will be a pleasure in this 16’6″x11’5″ kitchen and breakfast room area. Starting with the marble tile (1 sq. ft. each) countertops, a feeling of luxury and functionality permeates the kitchen: just look at all these features! Switched under cabinet lights. Kitchen and breakfast room with floor outlets ready for your island or plugging up your laptop to work at the table. Cabinets are red oak, with a white pickling stain; the doors are Shaker style with European hinges. The hood cabinet, as well as the cabinet trim, are stained in a darker accent Latté color. The hood vents outside so that it truly functions as opposed to the hoods that recirculate the air. The ceramic tile(1 sq. ft. each) flooring features a border and accent tiles, which picture a lion on a castle. The counter back splash and stovetop back splash are fashioned of tile. TV shelf in kitchen with wiring to duplicate the programming in the living room. Electric outlet in appliance pantry (ideal to neatly tuck away a microwave). French doors in the breakfast room bay open to the side porch, so you can bring groceries into the kitchen area directly from the driveway. The under-sink water filter saves you money, because you don’t have to buy bottled water. Switched lights in the food and appliance pantries. The laundry nook is accessed from the breakfast room; it also has a switched light, shelves, and a sturdy bar on which to hang your clothes as you remove them from the dryer.

Stove

The oven is actually a double oven. The bottom drawer is not a warming oven, but truly is another oven in which you can cook. It is very useful at times like Thanksgiving; you can cook macaroni and cheese in the bottom oven while you cook the dressing in the top oven, at a different temperature. It was bought at Sears in 2006. This Frigidaire stove has the glass top that makes cleaning so easy! It also has the self-cleaning feature.

Dishwasher

The Kenmore dishwasher has the Turbo Jet feature; it blasts food off pots and pans. You have to load the dishwasher differently if you use this feature, so read the sheet we left in the file folder before using it. This was bought from Sears in 2006. It is one of those models with the extra tall interior, so you can fit taller items in it. It has a separate arm for the top rack and the water for it is routed along the back wall of the dishwasher, so it doesn’t get in your way when you load the bottom rack.  The top rack can be lowered to accommodate taller items. The entire dishwasher is raised above the floor as much as it could be so that you don’t have to bend over so far to load and unload it.

Refrigerator

The refrigerator is enormous! It is an Amana, bought at Sears in 2006. The freezer is on the bottom; it is a pullout drawer. The bottom half pulls out when you open the freezer, then there are two slide out baskets that comprise the top half; you just slide those out if what you need is in them. The refrigerator has slide out, adjustable shelves. It has drawers, an under shelf coke can holder, and the door shelves are large enough for milk jugs.

NOTE: We had a stand-up freezer in the storage room. There is probably enough room for a chest style freezer if you have one.

Stairs

The stairs are in the traditional style. The steps are floored with Brazilian cherry; the risers are painted with white proclassic paint. There is a runner for safety.

Hall

The hall has an opulent design. The natural Brazilian cherry flooring has a celtic knot design at the four corners of its light Brazilian cherry border.
